T. S. Eliot wrote, “You know only a heap of broken images” – and yet, I don’t think this has to be a permanent situation. I don’t think broken images need to stay broken. We can put the pieces back together. It doesn’t just look like looking up words in a dictionary: it looks like stepping into the worldviews of people who have used them over the centuries. It looks like seeing through their eyes.
